Bob Burden and his family have been a part of Loves Park for generations. Bob is a graduate of Harlem High School and Drake University, where he received his BA Degree in Economics. Bob returned to Loves Park after college and began his two-decade career as a Manufacturer’s Representative for Burden-Cooper, Inc.

Bob’s interest in serving his community began early, and included 5 years on the Harlem School Board, 12 years on the North Suburban Library Board, and 4 years as Loves Park Second Ward Alderman. In 1997 Bob was elected to his current position as Loves Park City Clerk. Bob’s dedication to serving the people of Loves Park is demonstrated by his commitment to continually improve the services the City Clerk provides. Bob belongs to several professional municipal clerk organizations from the region, state, and country. Those organizations include Northwest Illinois Municipal Clerks, Municipal Clerks of Illinois, and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. These organizations focus on training, best practices, and professionalism. Bob has achieved all certifications from these organizations, as well as the designation of Master Municipal Clerk.
